'It was by this time necessary gradually to convert the German people psychologically and make them increasingly aware that there are things which, if they can't be accomplished by peaceful means, must be accomplished by violence. The point was not to propagate violence per se but so to illumine for the German people certain political occurrences that the inner voice of the people itself began dually to cry for violence.'
